How it works
Installation requirements Trailer Remote Control only works with trailer EBS E2 and ELEX (available since December 2010). The Trailer Remote Control is powered in the truck by a connection to the fuse box
Communication between truck and trailer
The Trailer Remote Control communicates with the trailer via the existing ISO power line. There is no need for an additional cable between truck and trailer.
The Trailer Remote Control requires installation of the ELEX (ELectronic EXtension box, part nr 446 122 070 0). ELEX will transmit the trailer data on the ISO power line to the Trailer Remote Control and will activate the trailer functions appropriately
Usage in fleets with multiple trailers
If a truck with a Trailer Remote Control is coupled to a trailer, the Trailer Remote Control will automatically detect and recognize the Trailer EBS E2 and give access to the functions which are available on the coupled trailer.
